Why Solar and Wind Stocks Soared After the Invasion

A late-day surge pushed the overall U.S. market into the green on Thursday, but few sectors did as well as renewable energy. Several solar and wind stocks jumped more than 10%, reversing months of declines.

Solar developers Sunrun (ticker: RUN) and SunPower (SPWR) jumped 22% and 14% respectively, solar equipment maker Enphase (ENPH) rose 16%, Danish wind power company Vestas Wind Systems (VWDRY) rose 17%, and solar panel manufacturer First Solar (FSLR) rose 6.4%.
